During my early twenties I experienced what I thought at the time was a dream. I was floating, body-less, effortless in swathes of beautiful light. The overwhelming feeling of bliss was indescribable. I cannot now recall how this felt, but I remember feeling it and even more remarkably, realising that the feeling was very familiar to me. As I came out of the dream it felt like I was falling down, back into my body, back down to earth, and the ecstatic feeling slipped away from me.
This was nearly twenty years ago now. But as I embark on my spiritual journey as I head into my forties, I only now realise what I experienced. I believe this was a memory from before, a memory of my pre-earth existence, and also a reassurance of where I will be going again once this earth life journey is complete.
It is a comforting experience to have had, and for which I am unendingly grateful. It embeds my faith in life, and death. It offers me hope when life seems unhopeful, it offers me shelter when life’s storm weathers me. It is my knowing; it is my Union.
When we meditate we are always aiming for that calm state of bliss, that feeling of wholeness, completeness, clearing the mind from day to day stresses, and just “being”. But remember that to meditate we help ourselves to better experience what this life has to offer. Our life on earth can be full of everything we choose it to be. Our paths are full of teachings and learnings. Use your time wisely to enjoy life moment by moment. Go forward in love and light, in the knowing that love and light is where you came from, and where you will return, and thus love and light is what you are.
Shine bright 🙏🏻
